Country music star Nathan Carter has recently released a music video for his new single ‘Sarah Jane’ and it ‘s proving a big hit with fans.

Following its launch two weeks ago, the video, which features Nathan busking on the streets of Dublin accompanied by fiddle player Sal Heneghan, has already had over 200,000 views.

Speaking to The Impartial Reporter about the new single, Nathan’s manager and co-writer of ‘Sarah Jane’ John Farry said: “It’s a brand new song that Nathan and myself wrote during lockdown back in March. We wrote a few songs and this was one that jumped out and it’s doing very well.”

The song is about a pretty young lady fiddler busking in Dublin, and in the video, Sal, who is a successful Irish Trad musician from Castlebar, Co. Mayo, plays the role of Sarah Jane.

“We filmed it really early in the morning in Grafton Street and the place was absolutely deserted,” shared John.

When asked how Sal became involved, John explained: “The producer of the album knew of her and I touched base with her and she was very keen to get involved.”

“There’s some quiet rumours there about a budding romance but we’re not sure. They’re slagging him enough about it anyhow, but I don’t know,” laughed John: “He doesn’t tell me everything.”

The video was filmed at the end of August and also features a cameo from Nathan’s brother Jake Carter and Olivia Douglas.

“It was filmed at 7am on a Monday morning and the guys who shot the video did the editing super quick and we had the video out on Wednesday, August 26,” John told this newspaper.

John went on to comment that the song has got the biggest reaction of any of their releases since the iconic ‘Wagon Wheel’.
