A MOTORIST in Enniskillen has been cautioned by police for possession of a Class B Controlled Drug, that was found during a search of their vehicle after it was initially stopped for having an illegal registration plate.

The vehicle was stopped on Belmore Street, Enniskillen on Thursday, September 10. During the search, Fermanagh and Omagh District Support Team (DST) also discovered that the motorist didn’t hold any type of license or insurance to be on the roads.

A spokesman on behalf of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated: "Following a check it was discovered that the motorist didn’t hold any type of license or insurance to drive on our roads. The vehicle was searched and the driver was further cautioned for possession of a Class B Controlled Drug."

Whilst out patrolling the roads, Fermanagh and Omagh DST also detected two vehicles driving with no insurance on Lisnaskea Main Street. Files are currently being prepared for the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) in relation to this.

The PSNI spokesman added: "We all share the roads, so we all share the responsibility for road safety. Do not drive if you are not insured and don’t have a license to do so.

"Never drive after drinking or taking drugs. Pay greater attention to your surroundings, and always wear your seatbelt. If everyone follows this advice, then together we can save lives."
