A World War II spitfire plane scheduled to pass over a number of Northern Ireland hospitals today and tomorrow in honour of NHS workers will not fly over the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, organisers have confirmed.
When asked by The Impartial Reporter if the aircraft would be flying over the Fermanagh hospital, a spokeswoman for the Aircraft Restoration Company, which owns and maintains the charity aircraft, said: "I’m afraid that as a small family project, that has escalated pretty quickly, we are unable to fly by all UK hospitals. As much as we wish we could!"
Some people on social media expressed their disappointment.
The aircraft, which is emblazoned with 'Thank U NHS', is set to fly over a number of hospitals in Northern Ireland on Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18.
