A Year 11 student at St. Kevin's College, Lisnaskea has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a post on their Facebook page, principal Gary Kelly confirmed that the student tested positive for the virus after receiving the results of the test on Friday.

The post continued: "This pupil has been self isolating since Wednesday morning at around 10.30 am. The following pupils have to self isolate for 3 days initially- All pupils in 11KG Bubble. All pupils in Year 11 Sociology, RE, Irish, Health & Social Care and Mrs Edwards Double Award Science Class. All pupils on Knocks/Carrickyheenan Morning and Afternoon Buses (Greg’s& Seamus’s)."

In the Fermanagh and Omagh Council area there have been nine new positive cases of the virus in the last 24 hours according to the daily update from the Department of Health.

It brings the total 242 out of 16,146 people tested. In the last seven days there have been 1,895 tests with 31 positive results. 10 have been aged 19 and under; two aged between 20 and 39; 16 between 40 and 59; and three aged between 60 and 79.

In Northern Ireland there were 222 positive individuals in the last 24 hours with the total now at 9,165. There have been 913 positive cases in the last seven days. 

Fermanagh and Omagh has recorded 11 deaths, according to the Department of Health; however, the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) reported there were 17 deaths in the district up until September 11.

The latest statistics from the Department of Health are mainly from hospital fatalities where a person has tested positive.

NISRA data shows the death toll reached 887 people by September 11 and this includes care homes/in the community/hospice and hospitals.

The new data collection by the department refers to both Health and Social Care Trust Laboratory completed tests (Pillar 1) and National Initiative Laboratory completed tests (Pillar 2).

The Western Health and Social Care Trust has had one admission and discharge for Covid-19 in the past week.

There are currently four ICU Covid-19 beds occupied in Northern Ireland, with three people currently on ventilation due to the virus. There are 32 beds occupied with Covid-19 patients.

There are 27 confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in cares homes across Northern Ireland, with 11 suspected outbreaks.
