THERE was a great buzz at the Bees Knees in the heart of Enniskillen last Wednesday morning when the bustling coffee shop held a morning fundraiser in memory of two highly-regarded Fermanagh men.
Held in honour of owner Deborah Wilson’s late father, William Wilson, who died seven years ago, and the late Neville Gamble, who died in November, 2019, the coffee morning was held in aid of Friends of the Cancer Centre, and to help celebrate one year in business at the Bees Knees coffee shop.
Deborah said: “My sister and I had always wanted to do something in daddy’s memory after he died of throat cancer, seven years ago, but never got round to it.
“I was talking to my window cleaner, Jim Gamble, who mentioned Friends of the Cancer Centre as a charity, so I wanted to do it with him too after his son, Neville, died of cancer in 2019.”
Deborah hosted the fundraiser in her shop so that social distancing could be maintained and she had a member of staff on the door to ensure her shop was not overcrowded.
All proceeds from the fundraising coffee morning, which had raised approximately £1,860 by the time of going to print, were donated to Friends of the Cancer Centre.
