On THEIR final day of school before Lockdown, pupils of Enniskillen Model Primary took part in a special fundraiser to say ‘Thank you’ to the NHS.
The Rainbow Day event took place on Friday, October 16, with schoolchildren from Primary One to Primary Seven taking part in various activities throughout the day, including a staggered ‘Rainbow Walk’ in Castle Coole, Enniskillen.
Primary One teacher Janice Murray said: “At Castle Coole we had a Rainbow Walk, where the children had to find the colours of Autumn.”
Other activities included games with rainbow-coloured balloons, and a school-wide art project featuring a handprint from each child, with every year group taking a different colour of the rainbow.
“We then made a big rainbow display in our assembly hall to show that we are together as a family,” said Mrs. Murray. Sticking to the rainbow theme all day, the children also enjoyed a colourful snack.
A total of £850 was raised on the day, which will be donated to the Children’s Ward and Intensive Care Unit at the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen.
