There has been one further death in South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) as a result of Covid-19. The death is included in today’s daily 24-hour bulletin from the Department of Health. It is one of five deaths recorded in Northern Ireland today, one of these occurred outside of the 24-hour reporting period.

There have now been 634 Covid-19 deaths recorded in Northern Ireland, 15 of these deaths occurred in Fermanagh and Omagh.

There were 39 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Fermanagh and Omagh in the past 24 hours by the Department of Health. 

The seven-day incident rate for positives case per 100k people has slightly fallen in Fermanagh and Omagh, and now stands at 222.5 per 100k people for the week of October 15-21 – the previous week’s rate stood at 240.5.

The weekly number of cases for Fermanagh and Omagh is 260 for October 15-October 21. The cases were broken down into the following age brackets.

Some 43 cases were in people aged 19 and under; 93 cases were between the ages of 20 and 39; 71 cases were in those aged between 40 and 59, 34  cases were aged between 60 and 79, and 19 cases were in those aged 80 and over.

There have been a total of 1,105 cases recorded in Fermanagh and Omagh since the pandemic began.

There were 1,042 new cases recorded across NI. The total number of positive cases in NI for the past seven days were 6,753 new cases.

There are currently 12 Covid-19 in-patients in the SWAH. There are 73 in-patients across the Western Trust.

There have been 68 admissions to the Trust, and 47 discharges in the past seven days.

There are 289 in-patients in hospital across NI with the virus. Some 33 people are on Covid ICU beds across NI. There are 23 Covid-19 patients on ventilators across NI.

There are currently 83 confirmed nursing home outbreaks, with 10 suspected care home outbreaks across NI.
