FERMANAGH and Omagh District Council’s Halloween at Home programme is currently under way until this Saturday, October 31.

The programme is being delivered entirely online from venues right across the council area for Halloween week, and has something for everyone.

Speaking about the programme, the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Chris Smyth, said: “The annual Halloween Spectacular in both Enniskillen and Omagh regularly draws thousands of people to the Broadmeadow and the OASIS plaza for the celebrations, many of whom travel some distance to join us for the evening.

"These events are generally supplemented by other Halloween events at our various facilities.

"Unfortunately, due to the restrictions currently in place to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the usual programme of events has had to be postponed.

"What these challenging times have encouraged us to do, is to look for new and innovative ways of delivering initiatives, and I commend council staff for putting together this excellent programme of events to help celebrate Halloween."

He added: "While this is a time where we must do everything we can to stay safe, I am delighted that this programme affords us the opportunity to enjoy the Halloween traditions from the safety and comfort of our own homes.”

Every day features Halloween arts and crafts programmes from various locations, while Pots and Potions workshops are sure to prove popular with younger audiences, who can even learn how to create their own volcano.

All events are being delivered online, and can be accessed from the Council's Facebook page (@fermanaghomagh), as well as the pages of different venues across the district.
