FERMANAGH Women's Aid, in partnership with Fermanagh and Omagh PSNI, will be facilitating free domestic and sexual violence training for salon professionals in the Enniskillen area.

Fermanagh-based hairdressers and beauticians are being encouraged to sign up for the 'In Safe Hands: How Salon Professionals Can Help' training, which will take place on Monday, November 9 from 10am to 2pm in Fermanagh House, Enniskillen.

Social distancing guidelines will be strictly adhered to.

During the training, salon professionals will learn how to recognise the signs of domestic violence and respond appropriately to disclosures.

All of the salon professionals who previously attended these sessions said that they had had a disclosure of abuse but didn't know how to respond. Thanks to the training, they now know the appropriate action to take.

A spokeswoman for Fermanagh Women's Aid said: "We know salon professionals can make a difference – survivors are more likely to disclose to someone they trust, and that could be you."

For further information or to book a place, contact Michelle Alonso at training@fermanaghwomensaid.com, or phone 0286 632 8898.

All sessions are funded by Enniskillen Business Improvement District.
