There number of Covid-19 related deaths in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area has risen to 20 as the Department of Health have reported one further death in their daily update.

It is one of 12 deaths reported by the department today (Thursday), with eight in occurring in the last 24-hour reporting period and four outside of that period. It brings the total number of deaths in Northern Ireland to 752.

There were also 20 new cases of the virus reported in the Council area in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,558. This was the lowest number of positive cases across all Council areas.

Across Northern Ireland 516 people tested positive for the virus with the total now standing at 41,374.

Breaking down positive cases by postcode in Fermanagh, from October 26 to November 1, there were 15 cases in BT93; 58 cases in BT92; 23 positive cases in BT94; and 32 cases in BT74. 

There have been 180 positive cases in the Council area in the last seven days compared to 276 in the previous week from October 20-26. Some 24 of those were aged 19 and under; 55 were aged between 20 and 39; 72 were aged between 40 and 59; 20 were aged between 60 and 79, and 9 were aged 80 and over.

The seven-day incident rate for positive cases per 100k people in Fermanagh and Omagh now stands at 154.1 per 100k, for the week of October 26 to November 1 – the previous week’s rate stood at 236.2.

There are currently 79 in-patients across the Western Trust, with 17 of these in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH). While there have been 56 admissions and 61 discharges in the past seven days in Western Trust hospitals.

Across the five Trusts, there are 409 in-patients in hospital with the virus. Some 49 people are on Covid ICU beds across Northern Ireland, none of those are in the SWAH. There are 42 Covid-19 patients on ventilators across Northern Ireland.

There are currently 126 confirmed nursing home outbreaks, with 4 suspected care home outbreaks across Northern Ireland.
