A COUNTY Tyrone man accused of possessing indecent images and inciting sexual activity with a child has been committed to Crown Court for trial.
Garret Joseph McBrien (37), from Ecclesville Heights, Fintona, is accused of intentionally causing a female child to engage in sexual activity and encouraging her to communicate sexually.
There are also four counts of possessing indecent images of a child, as well as a single count of showing or distributing an indecent image.
The charges are alleged to have spanned a two-year period between 2014 and 2016. He appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court for a committal hearing, where a lawyer appearing for the prosecution said there is a case to answer, which was agreed by Judge Steven Keown.
McBrien confirmed he understood the charges against him, and declined to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf at this stage. Judge Keown remanded McBrien on £500, and ordered him to appear for arraignment at Dungannon Crown Court next month.
