The 2020 Retail Heroes Awards, which aim to recognise the resilience, commitment and innovation shown by local businesses in response to Covid-19 over the past number of months, were recently launched by the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Chris Smyth.

Speaking about the awards, Councillor Smyth said: “I have long admired our local businesses and recognised the tremendous contribution they make in providing local employment and contributing to the local economy.

“This year, more than any other year, the retailers of the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area have demonstrated tremendous resilience and resourcefulness as they have adapted the way they do business in what can only be described as unprecedented and extremely challenging times.”

Nominations for the 2020 Retail Heroes Awards are now open. Awards are open to retailers across the Council district, with the winning business, the ‘Retail Superhero’, to receive a tailored marketing package worth £1,000, and the runner-up to receive £500 of marketing support, with both receiving a special Retail Hero Award.
