This afternoon (November 19) the streets of Enniskillen were lined with the family, friends and colleagues of the late Bill Eames as they paid their respects to the former RAF Flight Lieutenant as he was laid to rest.

William Joseph (Bill) Eames, BEM, (RAF), formerly of Enniskillen, passed away peacefully at his home in Lisburn on November 15 at the age of 97.

Mr. Eames funeral service took place today at 1pm in St. Macartin's Cathedral, Enniskillen. The service was led by The Very Reverend Kenneth Hall, Dean of the Diocese of Clogher. During the service, one of Mr. Eames' grandchildren read a heartfelt tribute. The service was live streamed and the recording will be viewable shortly via a link on the cathedral's website.

Members of the Royal Air Force, Royal British Legion and a number of Old Portorans were among those who gathered at the Diamond in Enniskillen as Mr. Eames' funeral cortège passed by.
