The Department of Health has recorded 18 further deaths related to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, with one of those occurring in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.

There have now been 1,384 deaths in Northern Ireland while Fermanagh and Omagh accounts for 52 of that total.

1,378 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours bringing the total to 81,251. 12,487 people have tested positive in the last seven days.

Fermanagh and Omagh had 61 positive tests which brings the total here to 4,087.

Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district from December 28 – January 3, 2021 shows that all postal districts have seen an increase of positive cases with some Fermanagh postcodes doubling the number of positive cases. BT92 has 151 postivie cases (72 last week), BT74 has 127 positive cases (63 last week) , BT94 has 73 positive cases(55 last week) and BT93 has 79 positive cases (40 last week).

Fermanagh and Omagh currently has a seven day per 100k rate of 590.6. The number of positive cases in the district in the past seven days is 690 compared to 427 from December 22-28.

76 were aged 19 and under; 289 between 20 and 39; 197 between 40 and 59; 108 between 60 and 79 and 20 aged 80 and over.

South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) is operating over its bed capacity by 8.43 percent while across the Trusts bed capacity is currently at 101 per cent.

There are currently 85 Covid-19 in-patients in the Western Trust, with 23 of those at the SWAH. There have been 43 admissions and 50 discharges in the past seven days.

Across the Trusts, there are currently 577 Covid in-patients. The number of ICU Covid-occupied beds stands at 45, with none of those at the SWAH. 34 Covid patients are currently on ventilators.

Confirmed care home outbreaks are currently at 131 with 11 outbreaks across 71 homes in the Western Trust.
