The total death toll from Covid-19 in Fermanagh and Omagh has risen to 67 with the daily update from the Department of health showing one further death in the area.

There were 21 deaths recorded across Northern Ireland with the total now standing at 1,692.

However, some positive news is that hospital admissions for Covid are falling at the SWAH, where there are currently 40 patients being treated for the virus, compared compared to 44 from last Thursday's update.

The Western Trust currently has 101 (117 last Thursday) Covid patients while across Northern Ireland there are 806 Covid inpatients compared to last Thursday's 842.

The number of ICU Covid-occupied beds stands at 70, with two of those at the SWAH. Some 58 Covid patients are currently on ventilators.

732 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours in Northern Ireland with 43 of those in Fermanagh and Omagh. There have now been 98,351 positive cases in Northern Ireland and 5,047 in this local Council area.

Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district from January 11-17 shows that BT92 had 73 positive cases, BT74 had 52, BT94 had 33 and BT93 had 37 positive cases.

The Council area currently has a-seven day per 100k rate of 261.1, compared to 401.4 for the seven days previous, from January 7-13.

The number of positive cases in the district in the past seven days is 305, compared to 469 for the previous seven days.

Breaking down cases by age, there were 31 cases in people aged 19 and under; 93 between 20 and 39; 119 between 40 and 59; 49 between 60 and 79, and 12 aged 80 and over.

Confirmed care home outbreaks are currently 134 - a fall of eight from the previous week. 27 outbreaks were across homes in the Western Trust. The Western Trust has the largest proportion of care homes with an outbreak in its region, with 38 per cent.
