Police are investigating a number of incidents in and around the Derrygonnelly and Florencecourt areas of Fermanagh on Thursday, January 21.

Two reports of criminal damage to vehicles and two reports of burglaries were reported between 4pm and just after 8pm.

They are also looking into the possibility these incidents are linked to a car which was reported driving in a suspicious manner earlier that day.

One car was parked on the Marble Arch Road, Florencecourt.  The owner returned, just before 4pm, to find the passenger window smashed.

In the second incident, the vehicle was parked on the Knockmore Road, Derrygonnelly.  Just after 5.15pm, the owner returned to find a rear window smashed and damage to the window frame.

A short time after, just before 5.45pm, police received a report of a burglary at a house on the Leighan Road, Derrygonnelly. It is reported that three males entered the house and demanded money.  The three subsequently made off empty-handed in a black car.

The final report came in at 8.10pm. Here, the occupant returned to her home on the Boho Road, Springfield, to find the front door of the property broken and the inside of the house ransacked.

Sergeant Brian Reid said: “We also received the report of a black Ford Mondeo being driven in a suspicious manner in the Florencecourt area that evening. We are investigating a link between this and the incidents outlined.  We are also working closely with colleagues in An Garda Siochana and assisting with their enquiries.”

“The intrusions have been disturbing for all concerned and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101.”
