Today’s daily update from the Department of Health shows that one more person has died from Covid-19 in Fermanagh and Omagh in the past 24 hours, In the same period 41 people tested positive for the virus in Fermanagh and Omagh.

There were 22 deaths recorded in Northern Ireland with four of them occurring outside of the 24 hour reporting period. The total number of deaths as a result of the virus is now 1,814. Across the whole of Northern Ireland there were 669 new cases of the virus recorded.

Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district from January 18-24 shows that BT92 had 35 positive cases, BT74 had 36, BT94 had 17 and BT93 had 18 positive cases.

Looking at the positive cases from the last week by age, there were 38  cases in people aged 19 and under; 54  in those aged between 20 and 39; 63  between 40 and 59; 28  between 60 and 79, and 17 aged 80 and over. There were 198 new cases in the past seven days which slows a slight decrease compared to the seven days between January 15 -21. The last seven day rate per 100k of the population in Fermanagh has decreased with a rate of 169.5 per 100k recorded in the past seven days comparison to 291 per 100k in the week January 15-21.

There are currently 745  inpatients with coronavirus across Northern Ireland with 83 inpatients in the Western Trust. 34 of these patients are in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH). There have been 32 admissions into the Western Trust and 58 discharges in the past week. There are currently 67 people in ICU with COVID-19 across Northern Ireland with two of those patients in the SWAH. There are currently 54 patients ventilated.
