FERMANAGH was briefly turned into a Winter Wonderland when blizzard conditions struck the county in the early hours of Saturday morning last, February 13.

The strong winds and snowfall created snow drifts in many areas, delighting children across the county.

With the large amounts of snow lying about, locals took the opportunity to have some fun in the snow, quickly building snowmen and going sledging on any nearby hill or slope.

Others indulged their creative side, giving the traditional snowman model an upgrade, with one couple creating a snow horse.

In Irvinestown, an 11ft snowman towered over its creator, and a family in Lisnaskea took refuge from the high winds in an igloo shelter.

Although the snow didn't last for long, with rain clearing the snow away for most before the end of Saturday, the snow still provided a great day of entertainment during the lockdown.
