Charge after allegedly leaving without paying over £60 bill

A charge of making off without paying for over £60 worth of food and drink from an Enniskillen restaurant is to be contested. Martin Joyce (30) from Killen Park, Castlederg is alleged to have committed the offence on September 9, last year. A defence lawyer entered a not guilty plea at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on his client’s behalf. District Judge Steven Keown adjourned the case until 14 March when a contest date will be fixed.

 

Fifth conviction for no insurance among multiple motoring offences

Pre-sentence reports are to be prepared after an Ederney man admitted driving without insurance for the fifth time. Lee Michael John Timlin (26) of Villa Terrace also took a car without authority, drove it unaccompanied and without L Plates displayed and obstructed police. Offending occurred in the Beechgrove Park area of Ballinamallard on October 2 last year. A defending lawyer entered guilty pleas to all charges at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on his client’s behalf. District Judge Steven Keown ruled sentencing will take place on March 28.

 

Charges from public order incident to be contested

Public order charges which relate to an alleged incident last month are to be contested, Enniskillen Magistrates Court has heard. William Johnston Neely (64) from Coa Road, Ballinamallard is accused of assaulting and resisting two police officers on February 7.  A police officer familiar with the facts of the case said the charges could be connected. To this, a defence lawyer told the court his client denies all allegations. District Judge Steven Keown adjourned the case until March 14 when a contest date will be fixed.

 

Drugs case suitable for caution

A caution has been agreed in the case of a thirty-eight-year-old man who admitted having small quantities of two types of drugs while in Enniskillen just before Christmas. Gregory Fox now residing at Coolnasilla Park West in Belfast was detected on December 17 with cannabis and diazepam. Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard defence lawyers made representations to the Prosecution who agreed the matter could be dealt with by alternative disposal. District Judge Steven Keown ordered the charges to be withdrawn once the caution has been administered.

 

Lisnaskea man admits stealing and damaging £85 trainers from Sports Direct

Pre-sentence reports are to be prepared after a Lisnaskea man admitted charges of theft and criminal damage. Forty-four-year-old Matthew Slate of Carrowshee Park stole and damaged a pair of trainers from Sports Direct valued at £85 on December 14 last year. At Enniskillen Magistrates court District Judge Steven Keown remarked custody was possible given the nature of offending. A defence lawyer said he wished to obtain a medical report to go alongside the pre-sentence report. Judge Keown ruled sentencing will take place on March 28.
