The low rate of postive cases in Fermanagh and Omagh continued as only five people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Tuesday's update from the Department of Health shows there has been 5,648 positive cases locally while across Northern Ireland the total is at 115,181 following the 164 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

Fermanagh and Omagh has again recorded no deaths, while there was only one death in Northern Ireland recorded.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths locally sits at 83 while the Northern Ireland figure is at 2,100.

The BT93 postcode area – that covers Kesh, Garrison, Belleek and many other small settlements – has had no positive cases of the coronavirus in the past seven days, from March 8-14.

The other postal districts in Fermanagh recorded low Covid-positive cases, with BT92 and BT74 having four and BT94 seeing one.

The seven-day rate of positive cases per 100k is at 34.2 for the last seven days.

Some 40 people tested positive in the past week; eight were aged 19 and under; 13 were aged between 20 and 39; 16 were between 40 and 59; three were between 60 and 79, with zero aged 80 and over.

According to the latest data, there are 40 Covid-19 in-patients across the Western Trust, while across all hospitals in NI, there are 176 such in-patients.

There are 12 Covid-19 in-patients in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH). There are no Covid-19 patients being treated in ICU in the SWAH.

There are 18 Covid-19 ICU patients across NI; 18 of whom are ventilated.

As of March 16 there were 13 confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in care homes, a decrease of five compared to the previous seven days.
