AN ENNISKILLEN man has been returned for trial on a series of drug charges.

Shane Carty (30), with an address of Drumbawn Close, Drumclay, Enniskillen, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Tuesday for a preliminary enquiry.

Carty is faced with 11 charges relating to incidents ranging over three years from 2014 to 2017.

The charges include two counts of attempting to import a controlled Class-C drug, namely Diazepam.

Further charges

The 30-year-old also faces further charges of attempted possession of a Class-C drug with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of a Class-C drug, and possession of a Class-C drug.

The Class-C drugs in question were Diazepam, Tramadol, Buprenorphine and Alprazolam.

Carty is also charged with the possession of a Class-A drug with intent to supply, and being concerned in the supply of a Class-A drug, namely MDMA, and being concerned in the supply of a Class-B drug, namely cannabis.

Medicinal product

Carty also faces one further charge of offering for sale or supply a medicinal product, namely Pregabalin, that was not subject to general sale.

The Public Prosecution Service told the court there was a case for Carty to answer, which District Judge Steven Keown agreed with.

Carty was released on bail of £500 to appear again at Dungannon Crown Court on June 10.
