Thanks to the creativity and generosity of a local artist, the walls of the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) will now be adorned with beautiful art.
Enniskillen-based artist Lisa Kiernan made an approach to Lead Midwife Brenda McCabe in SWAH having felt that the waiting room in the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit was missing something which encapsulated the wide range of emotions which expectant mums visiting the service may be feeling.
Concern
Emotions such as hope, concern, and anxiety were the inspirations for the paintings and they aim to help those mums focus and process their emotions by representing life, loss, hope and comfort.
Lead Midwife Brenda McCabe and Community Team Leader Sister Ali Ferguson would like to commend Lisa on her amazing talent, and sincerely thank her on behalf of the Western Trust and the mothers availing of our services for these beautiful and comforting portraits.
