THE Post Office in Enniskillen town centre is expected to close at its current location on Townhall Street at the end of August, with a new location yet to be found.
This comes following the news that Loane’s Costcutter in Enniskillen, where the post office is currently located, is closing in August, with its lease expected to be taken over by a "large English multiple" later this year.
In a statement to The Impartial Reporter on June 25, it was confirmed that Enniskillen Post Office "is expected to close at its current location at the end of August".
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We have received a resignation for Enniskillen Post Office. We know how important a post office is to a community and we are looking for a replacement.
“The vacancy will soon be advertised at www.runapostoffice.co.uk. We will soon be visiting retailers in the area. Enniskillen Post Office is expected to close at its current location at the end of August.”
When asked for an update on the relocation plans, a Post Office spokesperson told this newspaper this week: “The Postmaster for Enniskillen Post Office has resigned, but she will continue to run the branch until August 28.”
