THIS week the Ardhowen Theatre is welcoming back local band, The Hand Me Downs, for its weekly livestream.

Fermanagh’s finest ‘folkabilly’ band will entertain fans with their unique and fun covers of classics and modern Pop and Rock tunes, live on the Ardhowen Theatre’s Facebook page at 8pm on Friday, July 16.

Coming up, for the first time ever, the grounds of the Ardhowen will host some live performances, with Heartbreak Productions treating Ardhowen Theatre audiences to amazing and unique outdoor shows in July.

On Friday, July 16 at 4pm, Saturday, July 17 at 4pm, and Sunday, July 18 at 12 noon and 4pm, the amazing Mr. Stink, by David Walliams, will delight younger audiences.

At the time of going to press, tickets for Mr. Stink are sold out.

The Ardhowen has announced there will be a number of activities coming up over summer months to keep your young artists busy.

In July, The Vintage Exchange NI will be hosting a sewing summer school.

Learn to sew beautiful, sustainable and bespoke pieces, using the most ethically sourced and unique vintage fabrics and embellishments.

Vintage Exchange will teach you to machine- and hand-sew, then make your own scrunchie, make-up brush/pencil roll and a fabulous reversible ruffle collar.

This workshop is for 11 to 16-year-olds and runs from Monday, July 19 to Friday, July 23, 10am to 4pm daily.

Next, and the Ardhowen is welcoming back Kevin F. Sutherland, who will be hosting a series of comic art masterclasses on Monday, August 9 and Tuesday, August 10. Kev writes and draws for The Beano, Doctor Who and Marvel comics, and he’ll teach participants how easy it is.

After the end of a Comic Art Masterclass, everyone goes away with a comic containing a strip by everyone in the class, plus an individual caricature by Kev.

This in-person workshop will be held in the theatre under strict Covid guidelines, and all materials are supplied, for ages seven to 13 years. Tickets are available on the Ardhowen Theatre website.

Finally, join Julie for a fun-packed week of lots of different types of arts and craft activities featuring a guest workshop every day including dance, tie-dye, drama, drawing, painting, textiles, ceramics and much more.

Her workshop runs from Monday, August 23 to Friday, August 27, 9am to 5pm daily, and breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided, available for ages eight to 12 years. Tickets are also available on the Ardhowen Theatre website.
