Famous Fermanagh actor Adrian Dunbar has dedicated his GQ Men of the Year awards win to his 89-year-old mother who has beaten coronavirus.
The Line Of Duty star and Enniskillen native was named television actor of the year at the star-studded ceremony on Wednesday evening.
Accepting his award, Adrian thanked the BBC, the show’s creator Jed Mercurio and his co-stars and “best mates” Vicky McClure and Martin Compston.
“But I’d really like to dedicate this award to my 89-year-old mother Pauline, who beat Covid last week,” he added.
Mr Dunbar has been wowing audiences on screen since 2012 in the hugely popular TV series Line of Duty playing the role of Ted Hastings. The character has become a fan favourite for his use of colloquialisms with frequent lines uttered by the character include everything from ‘I didn't float up the Lagan on a bubble' to 'Mother of God’.
Dunbar previously revealed in an interview with The Radio Times that these lines were inspired by his late father.
Elsewhere at the ceremony, held at London’s Tate Modern, singer Ed Sheeran, actor Rege-Jean Page and England manager Gareth Southgate were also honoured.
