A public meeting will be held in Kesh this week in order to discuss the recent fish kill on the Glendurragh (Kesh) river.

Over 2,000 fish of various species were killed in the incident on September 2.

The meeting will take place in the Kesh Community Centre on Wednesday, October 13 at 7.30pm.

A spokesperson from meeting organisers, Kesh and District Angling Club said: "Many anglers, farmers, naturalists, and people with an interest in conserving water quality and the flora and fauna dependent on it are very concerned this [fish kill] has been allowed to happen and keen to take steps to ensure it does not happen again.

"To this end a meeting has been arranged between interested parties, local and provincial political representatives, and the statutory agencies to investigate ways to improve this situation. This will take place in Kesh Community Centre on Wednesday October 13 at 7.30 p.m."
