A GROUP of Fermanagh primary school children have looked to the county's agricultural heritage when deciding on a fundraiser.

The children on the Primary Four and Primary Five Eco-Committee at St. John the Baptist Primary School in Belleek got creative when thinking about unique fundraising ideas.

The pupils subsequently thought of the initiative 'Cash or Cow', leading to the children selling tickets for a prize of either £1,000 or a maiden heifer.

All money raised will go towards the purchase of new interactive whiteboards for the school to enhance teaching and learning and the children’s learning experience.

The draw for the cash or a cow will take place on Friday, October 22.

School Principal Aideén McGarrigle said: “I am so proud of the children in our school; their ideas and enthusiasm is truly inspirational and contagious.

"Well done, boys and girls, they are wonderful role models and ambassadors for our school. We ask you to please support our worthy cause."

Speaking on how to purchase tickets, Miss McGarrigle said: "Tickets can be purchased via Paypal, using the following email, info@stjohnbaptist.enniskillen.ni.sch.uk, or the username, 'sjtbps'.

"Include your name and contact number in the add notes section. Please select 'Friends and family' in the choice of payment.

"Once payment is received, we will contact you via Paypal with your ticket numbers, and you will be in the draw. Tickets are £10 per ticket, or £20 for a book of three."
