Post Office services were restored on Monday, November 15 to central Enniskillen with a temporary branch whilst a permanent solution continues to be sought.

Experienced Postmaster Stephen Henry has opened the replacement branch at Unit 14, Erneside Shopping Centre.

The formerly empty shop unit is based between Clinton Cards and Lakeland.

There are two Post Office counters and Stephen and two part-time staff will serve the community.

The same Post Office products and services will be available as before, but with the exception of the Lottery, which is not available at the temporary branch.

Parcel packaging materials are also on sale.

The opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm; and Saturday, 9am to 12.30pm.

The previous branch located at Nos 1-3 High Street closed in September due to the resignation of the Postmaster.

Mr. Henry said: “I am from the area and I have worked in a number of post offices in the Enniskillen area, so I know how upset people were when Enniskillen Post Office had to close.

“I am very pleased that the town now has a [central] branch again before the busy Christmas period begins.

“Customers will get a warm welcome. All the wide range of products and services that were available before are available, except the Lottery.”

Janese Sung, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored a post office to Enniskillen.

“We fully recognise how much the community rely on having Post Office services and we continue to seek a permanent solution. The [permanent Postmaster] vacancy is advertised on runapostoffice.co.uk.”
