The P1 children and staff at St. Paul’s PS, Irvinestown had a great time bringing some scarecrows to life during Hallowe’en activities, recently.
Taking inspiration from the Julia Donaldson story, ‘The Scarecrows’ Wedding’, the children decided to create ‘Harry O’Hay’ and ‘Betty O’Barley’ for our entry in the scarecrow competition at Florence Court.
Seeing the scarecrows at the historic site was also a lovely way to introduce the children to their new outdoor classroom, and to celebrate a super team effort all round.
The children were delighted to win First Prize in the Florence Court Scarecrow competition, and Harry and Betty have since been returned to their home in St. Pauls’ Forest School.
