The Ardhowen has a fantastic programme of entertainment and workshops lined up for the coming weeks.

Fancy learning a new skill? Why not try your hand at Drypoint Etching? The Ardhowen is running a workshop for adults (16+ years) on Saturday, April 23 at 10am, and youngsters, aged 11 to 15 years old, can enjoy the Printmaking Workshop on Saturday, April 30, at 2pm.

Participants will be able to make prints from their own line drawings. No drawing experience is required as you can use pictures from magazines or photos to create the printing plate, so feel free to bring your own ideas.

Saturday drama classes for kids continue with Exit Does Theatre. These fun-filled and high-energy sessions run at 10am for kids aged 4to 6 years old, at 11am for 7 to 9 years old, and from 12.15pm for those aged 10 to 12.

The children will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of topics, such as speech and drama and improvisation/acting techniques, in a non-competitive environment.

Moving on, and The Ardhowen/Fermanagh Film Club upcoming screenings include ‘Petite Maman’ on April 27 and ‘Here Before’ on May 4.

Celebrated drummer/composer David Lyttle and leading Jazz guitarist Phil Robson return with the Jazz Juniors on Friday, April 15 at 7pm.

David began his Jazz career with legendary Irish guitarist Louis Stewart. He was nominated for the 2015 MOBO Award for Best Jazz Act, and worked with Jazz icons Kurt Rosenwinkel and Joe Lovano, Hip-Hop star Talib Kweli, and actor Liam Neeson.

Phil has collaborated with cutting-edge players such as Mark Turner, Billy Hart, Dave Liebman and Christine Tobine; he is also known for his work with seminal UK Jazz group, Partisans, and has backed John Dankworth, Cleo Laine and Barbra Streisand.

Jazz Juniors is an Arts Council of Northern Ireland-funded national youth programme launched by Jazzlife Alliance.

Its nine members, aged 10-16, are working with David and other international names throughout the year and performing concerts throughout Northern Ireland.

Bardic Theatre bring their touring production of John B Keane’s classic ‘The Field’ to the Ardhowen on Friday, April 22, 8pm.Set in rural Ireland, with fearsome farmer Bull McCabe toiling away over the eponymous field, this dark – and at times, hilariously funny tale – is a work which went on to inspire one of Ireland’s most successful films.

Shifting tone, and ‘Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote’ comes to the Ardhowen on Saturday, April 23 at 8pm, with an interactive screening of the classic ‘Murder, She Wrote’ episode ‘Broadway Malady’.

Jessica Fletcher heads to New York City but soon gets caught up in a murder mystery only she (or the audience) can solve, in a unique and hilarious night featuring games, prizes and audience participation.

Time Out rated this show one of 2021 and 2019’s 50 Great Nights Out in London.

Mobing from murder to music, and join Paul Kelly and friends including Trudi Lalor, Chris Logue, Karl Kirkpatrick, Bernie Kelly and Paul McManus, Vincie Carr and Gary Wilson for a concert that promises to be a great night of music and entertainment on Thursday, April 28 at 8pm
