On June 11, the McCabe and Lynam families from Derrylin are hosting a golf open and gala dinner in aid of Brain Tumour Research UK to remember husband, father and step-father Nick McCabe.

Nick passed away on October 30, 2020, just 18 months after his initial diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme 4 (GBM4).

“Our Golf Open is helping to raise vital funds for this charity to find a cure so other families do not have to endure the devastation this type of cancer can cause,” explained Nick’s step-daughter, Eleanor Lynam.

“Brain Tumour Research receives less than one per cent of the national spend on cancer in the UK. This is simply not enough.”

“There are over 15 prizes for men and women to be won from the golf tournament which runs on Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, including a special prize donated by the UK’s biggest Golf Youtuber, Rick Shiels.”

Some of the prizes include: Fourball prizes for Malone Golf Club, Rathmore Golf Club and others. For the ladies, there are ESPA and Elemis sets to be won. The family have received generous donations to date from local businesses all around Fermanagh and Cavan. All sponsors will be named on signage at each hole on the golf course and thanked during the gala presentations.

The exclusive Gala event will be on the Saturday night, with music from The Young Guns, amazing raffle prizes and a four-course dinner.

This is set to be a wonderful night of fundraising and celebration of the life of Nick. Limited tickets are available for the Gala event so enquire at your earliest convenience.

Tickets are priced at £30. To enquire about gala ticket availability contact Rebecca (via text only) on 07840018891. To book a tee time for the golf event contact Victor at: 07765370375
