SIX BULLS were killed after bring struck by lightning on a Fermanagh farm during the freak thunderstorms last Wednesday.
The animals, owned by Mr. Victor Thompson, Moneykee, Irvinestown, had pushed together and taken shelter under a tree in the centre of the field at Drumsara, a short distance from Irvinestown.
It appears that the lightning bolt travelled down the tall tree before passing through the animals, who died - all clustered together.
Mr. Thompson, who is a beef farmer, went to check the bulls on Wednesday evening and was very shocked to find the six of them had died during the storm.
