A new pilot bus service from Enniskillen to the Marble Arch Caves has been introduced by Translink for July and August.

The new service aims to encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint by using public transport to visit and explore the Marble Arch Caves and Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail.

However, it is important to note that the service is limited, running from Monday to Friday, with one return journey, departing from Enniskillen Bus Centre at 11.45am, and returning at 4.30pm daily.

Speaking to The Impartial Reporter, a Translink spokesperson said: “As part of our summer timetable, we have added a new pilot bus service from Enniskillen to Marble Arch Caves, offering a cost-effective public transport option for visitors to the attraction.

“There is one return journey, Monday to Friday, leaving Enniskillen Bus Centre at 11.45am and returning from Marble Arch at 4.30pm.

“A return ticket is good value, costing £4.80 for an adult, or £2.40 for a child, and can be purchased at the bus station or on board from the driver.”

This newspaper also asked Translink to explain why the service will not run on a Saturday or Sunday, which are popular excursion days for tourists, town visitors and people who are otherwise at work during the weekday service, but the spokesperson did not clarify the weekend's omission from the pilot service.
