Two of the popular sections for animal lovers at Fermanagh County Show are the Dog Section and the Poultry Section.

These will again be staged at this year’s Show on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 2 and 3, at the Ulster Farmers’ Mart Agricultural Centre and Showgrounds, Lackaboy, Tempo Road, Enniskillen.

In the Dog Section – where Enviro Care NI are the new sponsors – this competition will be held on Tuesday evening next, August ,2 with entries taken on the field. Judging starts at 6pm. 

At the Dog Show there are 10 different groups, as follows:

• Young Handler
• Terrier Group
• Gundog Group
• Puppy Class
• Toy Group
• Utility Group
• Pastoral Group
• Hound Group
• Working Group

Cups will be awarded to winners of the main groups.

In the Poultry Section, there are 15 classes within the five main groups: Bantams, Large Fowl, Rare Breeds, Junior Classes, Waterfowl.

These are popular and competitive classes, bringing together poultry enthusiasts from across the region.

Elsewhere in the Showgrounds on the Tuesday evening, there will be a wide range of trade exhibitors, both inside and outside.

A band will be playing a selection of popular music, and all the entries in the Home Industries section, including the schoolchildren’s Section; Fruit and Vegetables, Cookery, Cut Flowers and Crafts, will be available for viewing following judging earlier that day.

Jams – Jayne Paget.

Schoolchildren’s Section – Sheila O’Hare, Jean Britton, Cathy Britton, Ena Browne, Valerie Adams, Henry Keys, Claire Walsh, Myrtle Dennis and Paula Britton.
