A Co. Down woman who had come up to Enniskillen to meet and stay with friends ended up sleeping in her car following a disagreement.

It was heard at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday how police on mobile patrol on May 11 saw the woman sleeping in her car in McDonald’s car park on the Dublin Road at around 2.40am.

Seanin Brown (43), of Lissize Avenue, Rathfriland, Co. Down, was asleep in the back seat of a Peugeot 405.

The engine and lights were off, and car keys were in the car.

Brown showed signs of intoxication and she gave an evidential reading of 63mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Gary Black, representing Brown, told the court she had been visiting friends in Enniskillen and had been socialising.

The intention was to stay with a friend, but due to a disagreement that option was no longer available, and she decided to sleep in the car before returning home the next day.
He also asked the court to give Brown credit for her early guilty plea.

For being in charge with excess alcohol in her breath, Brown was given 10 penalty points, and a £300 fine by District Judge Steven Keown.
