Thousands of entries were received by Fermanagh County Show for the Schoolchildren’s section from children of primary and post-primary schools across the county.

Many of them had submitted their work earlier in the year, leaving them to enjoy their school holidays to come into the Agricultural and Exhibition Centre with members of their families to see if they had received awards.

The Vaughan Trust had donated some of the prizemoney in selected classes for agriculturally-themed designs and writing.

Some of these included the design of the front cover of the catalogue, where the first prizewinner received £40, with £30 for second and £20 for third.

The theme was ‘Grown in Fermanagh’ to create a design showing a display of vegetables.

The front cover winning entry came from Eliana Foy, from Derrygonnelly Primary School, with finalists being Lily Coalter, Lisbellaw PS; Louis McIvor, Derrygonnelly PS; Elijah Ramsey, Enniskillen Model PS; Emma Moore, Lisbellaw PS and Esme Walker, Lisbellaw PS.

In the post-primary classes, the main winners were from St. Aidan’s High School, Derrylin and Kilskeery Independent Christian School.

The schools results were as follows.
