PEOPLE all across the area can look forward to a horribly good Hallowe’en this year with events for all ages taking place.

For thousands of participants and onlookers alike, the welcome return of the Spooktacular 5km fun run in the heart of Enniskillen this Friday is certain to be a fang-tastic highlight.

Cancelled in recent years due to the ongoing pandemic, the tenth anniversary Spooktacular run from 8pm on Friday night will see runners and walkers of all ages – many in fancy dress – set off from Belmore Street to pass through the market town's streets, cheered on by onlookers.

There's more fun in Enniskillen this Friday evening, thanks to the Hallowe’en disco being hosted by JustUs at the Enniskillen Hotel, open to anyone over the age of 18 years with any form of disability, such as physical, mental, learning, sensory, etc.

Starting at 8pm, and running until 11pm, the disco promises to be a great night of spooky fun, with PJ The DJ providing great tunes to get everyone having a great time.

Fancy dress is encouraged, with a prize for the best costume. Please note that those requiring assistance must have a carer present.

Due to road closures associated with the Spooktacular race also taking place, those wishing to attend the JustUs Hallowe’en disco should arrive between 7-7.30pm to avoid any disruption with the road race.

If you’re looking for a change of pace from disco dancing and road running, there are plenty of leisurely Hallowe’en events which are also taking place this year.

For example, boys and ghouls will love the Hallowe’en-themed scarecrows on show at Florence Court House’s front lawn from October 28-31, with the scarecrows showing off some frightfully imaginative looks.

Older kids will go batty for the scares and thrills to be found over at Share Discovery Village’s Graveyard Forest, currently running until October 31.

Staying with the great outdoors, why not captain your own canoe at the Hallowe’en Day Camps being run by Blue Green Yonder from October 28 to November 1?

Get hands-on with some spooky Hallowe’en activities, including pumpkin carving, chocolate apple dipping and archery.

Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark is hosting Spooky Science Workshops at nearby Belcoo and Cavan Burren Park all this weekend from Friday, October 28 through to Sunday, October 31.

Running from 10am to 4pm, children will have the opportunity to participate in interactive hands-on activities, including making their own glow-in-the-dark slime, as well as some other spooky-themed activities - and Hallowe'en fancy dress is encouraged.

Enniskillen Castle’s Strangest Things Trail, currently running until November 5, has already been a big hit, inviting people to explore Enniskillen’s oldest abode and find all of some pesky pumpkins to solve a hidden clue and win a Hallowe’en sweet treat.
