Popular and highly respected Maguiresbridge man Herbie Downey hung up the keys of his bus for the last time yesterday (Wednesday, December 21) as he retires from his role of an Education Authority (EA) bus driver in the Maguiresbridge and Lisnaskea areas after 40 years of service.
An EA spokesperson said: "Herbie has been on the buses for the last 40 years. He was a very reliable and careful bus driver and has transported many generations to school.
"He will be greatly missed by all the kids, parents, schools and his work colleagues at the EA.
"Everyone at the EA wishes Herbie a long and enjoyable retirement."
