The villages of North Fermanagh were glittering and dazzling as farmers from across the area got together to fundraise for the RNLI as part of a Christmas fundraising event.

Club members and supporters from North West Fermanagh Vintage Club came out donning their most festive lights and accessories on their tractors as they brought some festive flair to the villages of Ballinamallard, Irvinestown and Kesh on December 15, 16 and 17.

Many spectators gathered to watch the run in what is becoming a new way of fundraising for deserving local charities.

There was strong support for the tractor drivers as crowds built up in the villages to cheer on the tractors and admire the machinery that was on display with a festive twist.

Some 20 tractors took part in the run in the village of Ballinamallard, with 26 taking part in Irvinestown, and 19 tractors doing a run in Kesh.

A spokesperson for the Fermanagh branch of the RNLI confirmed a total of £1,376 was raised, which included a £500 donation from North West Fermanagh Vintage Club.

The long-standing North West Fermanagh Vintage Club are now due to change their name to become the Fermanagh Vintage Tractor Club, to reflect their wide membership across the county.

The group go on tractor runs across the year, and anyone who is interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend a meeting on the last Tuesday of every month at the Bawnacre Centre in Irvinestown.
