There were plenty of fancy prices for stock at the recent ‘Stars of the Future’ calf show and sale at Clogher Mart where the supreme champion from Chris Johnston, Fivemiletown, sold for £13,000, as reported in last week’s edition.
Impartial Reporter photographer, John McVitty was there to cover the event organised by the Northern Ireland Commercial Cattle Club and there were plenty of local exhibitors in the judging ring and sale ring.
The Reserve Supreme Champion was exhibited by Dara Walker, from Irvinestown, and his animal was sold for £4,350 to Dessie O’Hanlon.
However, the second-highest price on the night was £4,500 for Nathan Harvey’s calf.
A Fermanagh entry came from Alan Burleigh, Lisnaskea, who received £2,450 for his animal.
There were also local entries from David Boles, Lisbellaw and Fintan Keown, Belleek.
The judge was Gareth Corrie.
