Issues around the £600 energy payment and people's addresses have been raised with Community Advice Fermanagh.

Community Advice Fermanagh has revealed it has identified issues in the past week with the BT92 postcode area where homes have yet to receive their £600 voucher.

"It is a unique situation brought on by the fact that there are still some homes in Fermanagh who have their townland registered as their address with their energy supplier," explained Samantha Gallagher, from Community Advice Fermanagh.

"In recent years, all homes in Northern Ireland who formally had townland-only addresses were given a house number and road name.

"However, some homes within the BT92 area have not had their addresses updated correctly with their energy suppliers, and this is what has caused the issue we are experiencing."

Community Advice Fermanagh started investigating this matter on Thursday, February 23 and put a post on their Community Advice Fermanagh Facebook page, and since then has been inundated with people looking for assistance.

"The main electric supplier is Electric Ireland (NI), followed closely by Power NI, both of whom are difficult to get through to via telephone," said Samantha.

"We are still collating data, but the first batch of clients impacted by the issue went to each energy provider [this week] asking for the old address to be altered to the new and correct address, and to reissue the voucher accordingly.

"We have the support from the Consumer Council (NI) who we have spoken with, and they are also trying to help us address the issue."

Samantha's advice to those who are impacted by this, and who feel able to address this themselves, is to telephone or email their energy provider, provide them with their name and KPN number, and then provide them with the new and correct address, asking them to reissue the voucher.
