An Enniskillen man has launched his new project, which will celebrate musical memories as well as asking probing questions about life.

Former Impartial Reporter columnist, Sean Paul Curry – who collated the popular 'Musical Memories' column – has launched the 'Life and Music' podcast.

Speaking to this newspaper about his podcast, Sean Paul said: "My podcast is all about talking to people who are trying something new and stepping outside comfort zones.

"We also talk about musical memories of treasured times of old."

Each episode will feature a special guest. Thus far, there has been a range of guests, including Street Kitchen and Paget Lane chef Marty McAdam, followed by Fermanagh woman and creator of the 'Dips and Hips' Instagram page, Coná Gallagher, with another recent recording featuring social media stars and co-owners of Osborne & Co. in Enniskillen, Elaine Godfrey and Julie Kenwell.

When asked about inspiration for the podcast, Sean Paul said: "Desert Island Discs is a definite inspiration, but just even hearing people's stories and connection with music [is also an inspiration], and from a personal side, just finding music I haven't heard before.

"Other inspirations would be Northern Irish comedians Shane Todd and Ciaran Bartlett."

Sean Paul hasn't ruled out revisiting guests from his column. He said: "It's a definite option, because I think the in-person element gives more scope for memories to be more genuine.

"This time round, I talk to guests about trying something new, and who are stepping outside comfort zones, so this will be a completely different element compared to the content in the paper."

Alluding to the future, Sean Paul said: "Ideally, I'd love to have Adrian Dunbar on, as I think he could tell some excellent stories and have a really different choice in music. The fact that I'm a big 'Line of Duty' fan is a plus!"
