Sands, the UK’s leading baby loss charity, has announced a partnership with the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) in Enniskillen to create a new Bereavement Suite.
The suite will provide a peaceful and comfortable environment for families who have experienced the loss of a baby during pregnancy or birth.
A spokesperson for Sands said: "Sands Northern Ireland are absolutely delighted to finally be announcing a project at the SWAH to provide a dedicated bereavement suite.
"We have been working closely with the SWAH over the past few months and today are able to make this significant announcement."
The project is part of a larger Sands NI project to ensure that a dedicated Bereavement Suite is available in every maternity hospital in Northern Ireland.
The new Bereavement Suite is set to open later in 2023, and Sands are now asking for help in fundraising for the project.
"We now need your help to fund the project which will cost Sands Northern Ireland £42,000.
"We will be planning local fundraising events with dates to be announced soon," said the Sands spokesperson.
