A learner driver has been handed fines and penalty points for having no insurance policy, being an unaccompanied driver and having no L-plates.

On January 27, at around 3.25pm police were on mobile patrol on Belmore Street when they observed a BMW, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday.

They stopped the car in the area of Fairview Avenue and spoke to the driver – Gvido Brants (29) of Fairview Avenue, Enniskillen – and obtained his details, the court heard.

No valid insurance was in place and he only had a provisional driving licence. He was unaccompanied and no L-plates were displayed.

For the three charges, Brants received six penalty points and a total of £350 in fines.
