There was a joyful atmosphere as more than 200 people gathered together for the 'Spring Sing' event hosted at Darling Street Methodist Church in Enniskillen on the evening of Saturday, March 25.

Organised by the Church Choir, the event took the form of a concert and featured a range of singing and musical performances.

The concert opened with a performance by guest pianist Gareth Knox.

Rev. Lorna Dreaning, minister of Darling Street Methodist, welcomed all in attendance and Ingrid Logan, choir leader, gave an introduction to the event.

Performances on the evening included the Church Choir, Junior Sunday School, with choir accompanists, Roberta Bailie and Gillian Rutherford; Original Tenors and Basses, David Hassard and The Elliott Family.

The Silver Tones Male Voice Choir, conducted by Hazel Darragh and accompanied by pianist Ruth Coulter, also entertained with a number of songs throughout the concert, and church members Annie and Molly brought lots of laughs with a short sketch.

The concert was in two parts, with a short five-minute interval in between. It concluded with supper in the church hall.

Commenting on the success of the 'Spring Sing', Ingrid said: "Our church choir was delighted to host our 'Spring Sing' concert.

"It was lovely to see such a full church and the window decorations made us feel that spring really had come!"

She added: "One of the key targets I had in my mind was that the performers should be local. We can safely say we did that.”

Ingrid went on to thank everyone who helped make the event possible.

A total of £2,124 was raised from the night which, after expenses, will support the Church Building Fund.

A great evening was had by all in attendance.
