Erne Aesthetics in Enniskillen will be the first clinic in Northern Ireland to offer VMM 3D medical tattooing of areola, for people, primarily women, who are post-mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery.

Erne Aesthetics was established in 2019 by Natalia Tyszko, a registered nurse, who has recently qualified as a registered independent nurse prescriber.

“I always had a passion for facial aesthetics. I graduated as a nurse in 2007 at the Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland, and after moving here to Fermanagh in 2008, I continued to learn and attend all sorts of different courses, online webinars, but also paid in-person training,” Natalia told The Impartial Reporter.

She added: “I always wanted to know more about facial aesthetics, I feel like there is a future [in it]. When it comes to the market, the market is huge.”

Talking about her journey of building her own business in facial aesthetics, Natalia said: “In 2013, my former partner passed away. Our daughter was three years old.

“When I started to feel better, I decided that everything happens for a reason, and I had to now create the best life for my daughter.

“So that’s why I chose to be self-employed. That’s why I decided to build my own business. It took me a few years, and with the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and all that, I was constantly being stopped and pulled back.

“However, I didn’t give up and I kept going, and I kept building this business.”

With Erne Aesthetics, Natalia started by offering facial aesthetics. “Shortly after, I moved to advanced facial aesthetics – that would be facial contouring, using Botox and dermal fillers.

“I also trained in professional body piercings, so I was offering that from 2019 also,” she said, noting that by working with specialists, she has recently added more treatments to the Erne Aesthetics portfolio.

“We have Krista Maguire, who specialises in nails and make-up, and we also have Tanja, who has recently moved to Enniskillen from Bangor.

“She will be offering scalp micropigmentation, which nobody else does within this area. It’s mainly for men losing their hair, but she’s very busy with female clients also,” explained Natalia.

“I also contacted Katrina McVeigh, a very well-known semi-permanent make-up artist and an advanced 3D areola tattooist and scar camouflage specialist.

“She will come to Enniskillen and offer this treatment, because there’s nobody else in Northern Ireland who does it,” said Natalia, explaining that the technique that Katrina uses is called VMM – Vicky Martin Method – of medical tattooing, which is offered for people, post-mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery.

Outlining how this treatment will benefit clients who have gone through a breast cancer diagnosis, Natalia said: “From what we know from the research that was done, surgery like [mastectomy and breast reconstruction] affects mental health.

“What I know from Katrina’s experience is that treatments like this [a medical areola tattoo] often finishes in big tears or emotion, because women feel like they get their body back.

“Before medical tattooing, there is only a big scar right in the middle of the breast. There is no nipple whatsoever, and the treatment that Katrina does, not only adds a nipple, it camouflages the scar around the area, so it’s like getting a new set of breasts again.”

Natalia is hosting an open evening this Friday, April 21 at the Erne Aesthetics clinic at 6pm, which will provide an opportunity for people to come along and ask questions about the respective treatments.

“We then also decided to organise a fundraising raffle in aid of MS Society and Breast Cancer, with loads of prizes to be won.

“I just wanted more people to know about us, and the treatments we can provide,” she told this newspaper.
