The Children’s Ward at the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) was given a delicious boost for children staying there across the Easter holiday period recently, thanks to a special presentation of 200 Easter Eggs.

Jasmine Parker, known as ‘the Belfast Easter Bunny’, was accompanied by her father as she presented the chocolate treats to help cheer up poorly children.

Jasmine’s presentation to the busy Fermanagh hospital came from the incredible total of 2,307 Easter Eggs she collected this year, distributing them to all the NI hospitals, as well as the Northern Ireland Hospice, across the Easter period.

Doris Kirkpatrick, Play Nurse Specialist at the SWAH, said: “This young lady has put tremendous effort into collecting these eggs over the years, and she now receives very kind donations from many people and businesses, and this has grown over the years.

“Football clubs, Girl Guides and Tesco are a few [supporters] mentioned by Jasmine. She also did bag packing in her local supermarket to raise money to buy Easter Eggs, which she started collecting when she was six years old, and has continued throughout the years by promoting herself as ‘the Belfast Easter Bunny’ on her Facebook page.

“Jasmine is overwhelmed by the generosity of the public and businesses in supporting this wonderful gesture to spread some smiles to children in hospital.

“Thank you Jasmine for your kindness, and to all those who have donated.”
