Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is illuminating Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on various dates throughout this month.
This Friday, May 5, both buildings will be illuminated in yellow to mark Darkness into Light, the annual walking event where participants meet and walk before dawn into the light of a new day, helping to raise awareness of suicide prevention.
This Saturday, May 6, marks the Coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as King and Queen Consort of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. To mark this, both buildings will be illuminated in purple.
Both buildings will again be illuminated in yellow next Monday, May 8, to mark the start of Dying Matters Week, which encourages people to come together to talk about death, dying and grief in the workplace.
Next weekend, Friday, May 12 is International Nurses Day which recognises the important contribution that nurses make to society, with both buildings to be illuminated in blue.
Following that, Foster Care Fortnight begins on Monday, May 15, with the day to see both buildings again illuminated in blue for The Fostering Network’s annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering, and to show how foster care transforms lives.
Later this month, World Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day on Wednesday, May 17 will see both buildings again illuminated in blue to focus on Neurofibromatosis, a hereditary condition which an individual can develop at any point in their life.
Finally, to help mark Brain Injury Awareness week, both buildings will be illuminated in green on Sunday, May 21, aiming to raise awareness of brain injury.
