Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has confirmed officers will be investigating the issue of fly-tipping and vermin close to a playgroup and primary school.
A Belcoo resident contacted The Impartial Reporter about the issue at the bring banks and refuse bin at Belcoo Community Centre, where they described an overflow of rubbish and rats in the area.
Belcoo Community Playgroup is run out of Belcoo Community Centre, while next door is St. Columban’s Primary School.
When contacted by this paper about the issue, a Council spokesperson said: “The Council has been alerted to the issue of fly-tipping in close proximity to the bring banks and refuse bin at Belcoo Community Centre.
“The refuse bin at this location is collected on a weekly basis, and a cleanse of this area was programmed to take place on Thursday, April 20.
“The issue of fly-tipping and vermin at this location will be investigated by our Council officers.”
