Police have confirmed they are looking into allegations of "non-recent inappropriate behaviour" at Erne Integrated College, Enniskillen.

In a short statement, a PSNI spokesperson said: "Police have received a report of allegations of non-recent inappropriate behaviour.

"An investigation has been launched and we are making enquiries to establish the circumstances.

"We will continue to work with our partners to protect and safeguard children. There are no further details at this time."

This is the latest issue to engulf the school following news on Wednesday that nine out of the 11-strong Board of Governors had resigned.

School principal, Jimmy Jackson-Ware said the resignations were "temporary" and the school would function as normal.

Also, an inpsection report into the school, which was published on April 18, stated that safeguarding measures were unsatisfactory.
